Obituary for David D. Winter

It is with great sadness that the family of David D. Winter, 58, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, formerly of Iowa City, Iowa announces his sudden passing near his home on Friday, September 15, 2017.

The family invites all those who knew David to join them for a Memorial Mass on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Newman Catholic Student Center, 104 E. Jefferson Street, Iowa City. Father Ed Fitzpatrick will preside.

David was born on August 31, 1959 in Iowa City, the son of Donald and Donna Winter. He graduated from Regina High School in 1978. After high school, David began working for Proctor & Gamble in Iowa City and then in Cincinnati, Ohio as a project manager. He was with the company for over 30 years.

David lived his life with gusto. He loved his family, traveling, boating, snow skiing, golf and attending sporting events.

David is survived by his daughter, Jordan Winter (Braden Lehman) of Iowa City; his mother, Donna Winter of Coralville; his siblings: Deborah Seemuth of North Liberty, Diana Winter (Jeff Murrah) of Iowa City, Doug Winter (Joni Allensworth and her daughter, Melissa Kirby) of North Liberty, and Daniel Winter (Susan) of Merritt Island, FL; his nieces: Devin Sodergren (Luke) of Hastings, MN, Taylor Campbell (Ian) of Bennington, NE; his nephew, Joseph Winter (Madison Goree) of Coralville; and David’s dear friend, Rose Price of Taylor Mill, KY.

David was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and his brother-in-law, Patrick Seemuth.
