Kyle Eugene Stanfield, 43, of Cedar Rapids passed away suddenly January 1, 2018 surrounded by the most important people in his life, his family.

The visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at the Grace Community Church in North Liberty, 2707 Dubuque Street NE. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:30 am. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Iowa City following the service. The family invites you to the Iowa City Moose Lodge after the burial for lunch and a cold bush light, just as Kyle would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Stanfield Children’s Education Fund.

Kyle was born in Iowa City on March 21, 1974 to Larry and Norma (Schmitz) Stanfield. He grew up in Iowa City, graduating in 1992 from Iowa City West High School as a phenomenal athlete in many different sports especially football and baseball. MCI and Hawkeye Moving and Storage were not only his employers, but also a team and became his best friends that he never lost touch with. Kyle’s love for traveling and people helped make his most recent career in world ventures successful. He met Jenny Breuer and had no idea she would give him life’s greatest blessing, two handsome boys, two years apart. Connor Charles and Tyler Eugene Stanfield had a special bond with their Dad and will miss everything that made him the best Dad they could ask for. Life only got better when he met Jennifer Horn. Not only did she make Kyle happy now Connor and Tyler were just as happy to have Jennifer become a part of their family.

Kyle never lost the athlete in him and loved lifting weights, staying active, playing golf and watching sports especially the Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Cubs. He did everything and more for the ones he loved, no matter what it was. He made friends everywhere he went, and many looked up to him whether it be at the gym or at home. He loved being a positive role model while wearing his favorite superman apparel.

Above all, Kyle was born into a big family but made just as many friends everywhere he went, with his respect, strength, morals and ability to make anyone smile with his goofy ornery personality. He worked hard to make sure his children had everything and more. That says everything about Kyle, he was a hard worker and dedicated his time and love to the things that brought him happiness. Kyle was an unforgettable man no matter how long you knew him. He grew closer to his sister Kim and brothers, Kurtis and Kameron, and loved to be around through the good and the bad, and they loved him just as much wishing goodbye didn’t have to be this soon.

Kyle is survived by his children, Tyler and Connor Stanfield; significant other for 4 loving years, Jennifer Horn; parents, Larry and Norma Stanfield; siblings, Kimberly (Jody) Chalupa, Kameron Stanfield (Kelly Mohlis), Kurtis Stanfield (Bethany Brink) and Tami Smith and his former spouse Jenny Breuer. He was the best uncle to his nieces and nephews who would do anything to spend one more day with him. He will be missed by them all, especially Brianna and her son Lane, Jessica and her daughter Madi, Mallory, Mason, Karson, William, Reese, Sam, Kailee, Oliver, Archer, Dominic. He is also survived by the only team he loved more than the Seahawks, Team Horn: Cindy, Jill, Travis, Joni, Nick, Angie, Dusty, Leslye, Brendyn, Kale, McKenna, Brooklyn, Brady, Zac and Jaycie.

Kyle preceded in death by his grandparents and cousin Brian, who he considered his best friend.
