Obituary for Sean Scrattish

Sean Steven Scrattish, 37, of Tiffin, died Saturday, January 19th.
At this time, in lieu of a gathering, we just request that everyone spend time with their family and loved ones as we knew Sean would have wanted. Let them know daily how much you love and care for them. Any future plans for a memorial will be announced.
To say Sean will be missed is the greatest understatement. His infectious smile and completely selfless heart will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew him. His zest for life, his enthusiasm, his laugh and constant positivity were just a few of his wonderful attributes. We all knew and loved him as the man who would offer assistance to anyone in need, friend or stranger. His family and close friends ask that you honor his memory, by every day trying to do the same.
In 2014, Sean moved to Iowa to be closer to his family, especially his nephew, Nolan. He took the utmost amount of pride in being the uncle of his favorite little human. Much to his delight, just a few years later, he also became the uncle to Ruby. These two were his entire world and he let them know on a near daily basis how important they were to him. One of his favorite things to do was spend an afternoon with just the three of them, going to movies or ice skating.
There isn’t enough space allotted to sum up how much he meant to all of us, or the hole that has been left in our hearts to no longer have him here. In his everyday life, Sean lived to show others what humanity truly was. The world has lost an amazing soul that only wanted the best for those around him and made strides every day to encourage this in others.
Sean was born on September 19th, 1981 in Spokane, WA to Steve and Terri (Jurenic) Scrattish. Although he lived in Iowa for the past several years, he still had an affinity for his home in the Pacific Northwest and carried his love of the the Seattle Seahawks to the Midwest. He was very proud to have served in the U.S. Air Force as a military police officer from 2001-2005, including a year of a active duty in Qatar. After moving to Iowa, Sean found his niche in the construction industry and thoroughly dedicated himself to his work at Maxwell Construction.
Survivors include his three sisters, April Scrattish of Denver, CO, Amber (Charlie) Myers of Tiffin, and Jenny Parker of Tacoma, Washington; his nephew, Nolan and niece, Ruby; his aunts, Jodi (Gary) Katz of Louisville, KY and Cathy O’Keefe of Spokane. Washington.
Sean was preceded in death by both of his parents, Steve and Terri and his stepfather, Mike Parker.
