Obituary for Dennis Lee Winegarden

Dennis Lee Winegarden, 73, died peacefully Wednesday, November 22nd of complications related to Parkinson Disease.
A Service of Celebration and Remembrance will be at 1PM Saturday, January 13th at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A reception will follow at The Kirkwood Room. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis Winegarden Memorial Fund c/o PO Box 167, Iowa City 52240.
Dennis was born August 23, 1944 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Albert and Anna Dyson Winegarden. He was a 1962 graduate of Sigourney High School and attended the University of Iowa. On July 18, 1965 Dennis married Diane Chrisman.
Dennis was well known for his electronic organ repair business and for being a hot air balloon pilot. Dennis loved to share the joy and experience of ballooning with others. He was a gifted landscaper, designer, builder, talented musician and lover of music.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Diane and their three daughters, Denise (David) Christensen of Sioux Falls, SD, Debra (William) Horning of Coralville and Danita Capps of Centennial, CO; seven grandchildren, Anne, John, Elizabeth (Brian), Nicole (Jeff), Aaron, Mason and Jalen; 3 great grandchildren, Lisa, Paisley and Jace; his sister, Sharie (Carl) Mann of Omaha.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
